Boro Stencil

The “Boro” technique
The word “Boro” comes from the Japanese language and means ‘to mend something worn out”. It came about due to the quite obvious need to recycle old fabric.

The result is often a piece of art.

“Boro-embroidery” stencil
Stencils have been created to increase the variety of stitches and produce a refined decorative needlework technique.

Each stencil contains different drawing options, to be used by copying them with a marker on the fabric you wish to embroider.

They can be used to cover the entire fabric or simply for light touches of embroidery. Artistic interpretation is endless.
